Hump Creek Publishing is an independent publishing imprint built around character-driven fiction—stories shaped by music, memory, relationships, identity, and the places that stay with us.
Our books don’t fit neatly into one shelf. They move between literary fiction, contemporary fiction, romance, music, and coming-of-age because people rarely fit neatly into categories either. What connects them is a focus on complicated characters, lived-in worlds, and stories meant to linger after the last page.
Hump Creek currently publishes fiction by Zach Taylor and Kate Humphrey, including the Rockstar series and And Here We Are.
We begin with people—not plots, trends, or categories. Characters should feel complicated enough to exist beyond the page.
